BIBLE VERSES

These Bible Text have been sent to me and many other family members daily by Brooklyn Ogg (Dad's 3rd oldest Grandchild). I'm not sure if they are daily words she just finds when she opens the bible or if they are given to her in this order in a special spiritual way but they have all been a blessing for one reason or another on the actual days they were sent.

8/26/11  John 14:27   Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world       gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

8/28/11   Proverbs 3:7-8    Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.

8/29/11   Proverbs 12:1    Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

8/30/11   1 Peter 2:2-3    Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation. If indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

8/31/11   Proverbs 25:28    A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

9/1/11    Psalms 29:11    May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace.

9/2/11    Philippians 2:13    For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

9/3/11    Mark 12:30-31    And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The Second is this:You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

9/4/11   Mark 13:31    Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

9/5/11   2 Thessalonians 3:3    But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

9/6/11   James 1:13-14    Let no one say when he is tempted, I am  being tempted by God, for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.

Paige (8) and Brook (17) Ogg, Just two of Dad's Beautiful Granddaughters
9/7/11   Romans 8:32    He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

JUST CHILLIN (9-2-2011)

Taking in the Ray's without the Shade's

"Cool Shades taken in the Rays"

Dad chilling in his hammock underneath the grandfather willow in his front yard that he planted when Rick, Tara and I were younger. He is surrounded by all his grandchildren and they are impressed with his COOL DUDE look. Not your typical GRANDPA!

Grandfather Weeping Willow
planted in 1987
This tree has been shade for many a days and a home to many birds and a place for feeders. Dad and Viorica love sitting under and watching all the different kinds of Gods Bird creatures feed.

Time Worp<<<<<<<<<< (9-2-2011)

"Sugar Bear...What you doing over there"
What can I say...This is my Dad 48 years ago when he was 18 years old, getting ready to pick up his girl in his 66 Plymouth Beluedere......What a handsome DUDE....OK OK, yes this is his Oldest grandson Bryce who looks a lot like him in those days. He and his brother Breyden and Uncle Tim uncovered Dads 66 baby and got it running Friday afternoon. When Dad looked up and saw his two oldest grand kids (Bryce and Madi) washing his car he said.."I wanna go sit in it". Dad then had lots of assistance to get into it so he could keep his promise to take them for a drive.

Lets get the King in the "Car"
With 9 grandchildren, 3 kids and a wife looking on while he positioned himself in the front seat the kids were fighting over who got to go on the first ride with grandpa!!!!!!!!!!!! Precious moments that will NEVER be lost. Madi was cleaning the windshield so that Grandpa would have a clear view. This car is a dream in process that our Dad started about 4 years ago. He has had the inside re-upholstered and wants to paint the outside Baby Blue (color of his eyes).

This Is my Dream Car
Who wants to go for a "Sweet Ride?" As the decision was made that all the Granddaughters got to get into the back, Bonica and Bryce got into the front.  With Dads hands on the wheel and gas peddle and Bryce's  foot on the BRAKE they were off for a "Sweet Ride". Rick, Tara and I stayed behind to take video and pray that Dad didn't go over the cliff! NO worries because Davie was right behind chasing them and was ready to rescue if need be.....................

Case Gang Low Riding.

Time is Precious (7-22-2011)

Dad and his motley crew
Rick, Gayla and Tara with King Dad just prior to his trip to Love land Co. for a 18 day alternative program at Eden Valley. We have many prayers that go with him to strengthen his immune system so that he can come back home for another Chemotherapy treatment. This darn cancer wants to show no mercy...just found out that it is in his liver (multiple lesions) and that Dr. Brady and his team think that the time away with his wife will be a good re prev. Its hard for us to let him be gone from us for that long but we know it will be good for them. I know many of us are hoping for Gods mercy.

Long time no UPDATE!

God's Promise
This was a rainbow High in the sky around the middle of July. As most of you know this is a sign from God that there will never be another flood. It is also a reminder to us that he loves us and wants us to continue looking skyward to him and remember the MANY promises he has given.

As I am typing this entry I am trying to remember the blurr of the last several months. As most of you are aware Dad's cancer is showing no mercy! We came home from OHSU and had a few weeks of slow but steady recovery from his surgery. Dad spent many days having his "private" nurses telling him what to do. We spent lots of time trying to get his calorie intake up so that we could get rid of that old feeding tube that we just got replaced...hahahahah. Having taken 6 cans nightly over about a 14hr time period for several weeks, Dad was able to get down to 4-5cans over 8hrs because he was doing so well with eating. He was able to take about 900-1400cal. independently. But he did have lots of help, both from family and medication to help control the uncontrollable nausea!!!! My dad is a lot like me....or me like him.....we upchuck with every muscle in our body, Exhausting. Good thing we had the feeding tube to use for medications because many taste and smells set off the nausea center. After many trials and tribulations Bonica and I have become experts at unplugging the darn thing.....it doesn't do well with things bigger then a 1/8th grain of salt..hehe. If any of you ever have this problem.....try carbonation or hot water with a little friction.

5-22-2011 @ 00:15 "Not so Good"

"Not gonna let go"

This picture is worth a thousand words and a 2:30am ride back to Portland for a replacement of his J-tube.....yes you read it RIGHT! After helping Dad up the the bathroom for a routine "potty" break. He stood up and looked down only to say to his PRIVATE NURSE(me) "...what's that?" OMW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (OH MY WORD), It was his J-Tube lying on the bathroom floor. Short time later we were on the road again to Portland (2:30am) OHSU to have the tube replaced. Yes, if you do the math we were home a whole 5 hours. We (Bonica, Vicky, Dad and Myself) were packing only minimal needs in hopes that it would only be a short visit. We arrived at OHSU at abbout 6am and went straight to ER. Within 21/2 hrs Dads J-tube was replaced via a wire guide through X-ray. Praise the lord his wound didn't close up to much in the 6hrs it was out so they did not have to go in surgically.

We are still in the Portland area and NO, we have not removed his hospital ID band as you can see. We decided to stick around for 2 days to make sure we would have no more POST issues. We are chilling in a hotel and getting the hang of the new tube. I have to admit that it was just NOT right to be sitting in 13K-10 again (Dads hospital room). It was surreal that we were back in less then 12hrs from Discharge. Dad's surgical crew was on it though!!! We even got to see that wonderful Dr. Coleman again. And even though Dr. Sheppard was in seattle at a conference he was made aware and pulled stings to get it done....yesterday. We love you Dr.Sheppard.

This photo is Dad holding on to is J-tube IN HIS SLEEP! He is not about to let it fall out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
